Hello mamas, I need a little reassurance. I’m 18 weeks and one day. I am plus size before I got pregnant I weighed 330lbs. I went to my family doctor appt today and he used the Doppler to see if we could hear the heart beat but he couldn’t find it. I’m hoping it’s just because I have a lot of belly fat and he wasn’t pushing the Doppler into my stomach, he was just like grazing the surface of my belly with no pressure at all. I haven’t felt any movement yet, but this is my first pregnancy and I do have an anterior placenta. Thankfully I have an OB appt tomorrow as well And he has a little ultrasound machine that he used and let’s me see my baby every appt. My OB has been able to pick up the heart beat on his machine so I’m praying we hear our little loves heart beat again tomorrow. I just need some encouraging words.

Im sure everything is perfect!
I had an anterior placenta with my son and I didnt feel him move until 20 weeks? Either way, I felt relaxed because after every US appointment he’d be there just swimming around. Hes a perfect 3yr now!

I’m 20w with an anterior as well and we were able to pick up the hb at 19w. Sometimes the doctores won’t use the Dopplers because they tend to scare mommas when the heartbeat isn’t detected, especially with an anterior, It’s not because of your weight
