Steve D fighting with HOLY MATRIMONY to decide which could be the creepiest film of the year. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Depardieu's accent makes the dialogue hard to understand for half the film and it gets a little uncomfortable when the underage lead in frequently shown in provocative clothing. Not sure what this movie was going for. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review jona i Generally stale performances and often creepy material, though some of it is pretty funny. Some nice quips. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review susan j This was such a waste of time. Embarrassed to post a review but I saw Gerard Depardieu was in it, and really like him as an actor---and the premise seemed so weird I thought it might be weird in a fun way. It was not. It was painfully bad. The 14% Critics rating is far more accurate than the 48% Audience ratings. The premise is trite. The acting is egregiously bad--the characters are really, really, really stupid. The girl is the most ungrateful spoiled unpleasant repugnant I may ever have seen in a film. Depardieu plays a moron, surrounded by legions of other morons. The madcap hijinx and slapstick shenanigans are unbelievably cringey. Seriously: don't watch this. Nothing redeemable here. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny, fluffy feel good film. Put your head on a low light and enjoy Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I watched this in 2017 and it did not hold up. Way to campy for me.
