X-Points
For this year’s Zalaris Norseman, 100 athletes got their slot via X-Points. If you have been trying to get into Norseman for years but have been defeated by the ballot, we suggest you start collecting X-Points.
What are X-Points?
When we open for entry at the beginning of October 2024, you will be able to use your X-Points balance to enter.
You can earn X-Points via any XTRI event - Full XTRIs, XTRI Solo Point Fives, MyXTRI challenges and the XTRI Xperience camps. More points are available for our smaller races. Points are awarded for finishing, not by placing, so it’s fair for everyone.
There will be 100 slots available for holders of X-points for Norseman in 2025.
Norseman Live
There will be a live broadcast from Zalaris Norseman / XTRI World Championships 2024. The live broadcast will start on Saturday, August 3, at 05.00 CEST. Tune in on nxtri.com for the live broadcast.

Meet Lars-Erik in the Norseman Crew
Norseman: Who are you, Lars-Erik?
Lars-Erik: I'm a simple guy from Lillestrøm who sees life as an eternal learning curve. I love to kick off new projects and ideas, which can also be ended just as quickly. My friends probably know me as a positive, open-minded, and inclusive guy who rarely says no and has more than average hobbies.
I work with cybersecurity and have a profound interest in technology. I have been in love with water since I was born. As a former swimmer and swim coach, I've had the pleasure of meeting many great people who are also part of the great Norseman Community. I am also a semi-professional photographer.
Norseman: How did your journey with Norseman start?
Lars-Erik: My journey with Norseman started in 2012. I met Even Chiodera and Line Foss during a swim camp for triathletes. Later that year, I had the pleasure of being part of Even's support team, together with Tim Bennett. I brought a camera I borrowed from my dad back then and took some photos during the race and at the black finish line. I was sold. I still remember the feelings, emotions, and expressions. Some cried, some laughed, some didn't have words, some collapsed. They gave everything they had. I wanted to capture more of this. I wanted to freeze that moment in time. I kept coming to the event, and some years later, former General Manager Dag Oliver asked if I wanted to be part of the photo crew. Fast forward to the present moment, I'm responsible for Media at Norseman.
Norseman: Where do we see you during Norseman?
Lars-Erik: During Raceweek, you will see me everywhere. Although everything is planned, deviations always happen, and something must always be fixed at the last minute. I'm a potato during race week. You will see me on the ferry, during the whole race, and certainly when all the finishers meet for a group photo to celebrate. If everything goes as planned, you can see me behind the lens. I am proud to have 20 talented and great people working in the Media team. They produce Media for the official Norseman movie, live coverage, content for our channels, and Crew Photographers covering the race and participant photos. In addition, I do my best for Norseman to facilitate external media to support Norseman's goals of becoming more visible in Norwegian and international media, with the ambition to inspire ordinary people. Sometimes, that means saying no more often than you want to, but the safety of the athletes always comes first.
Norseman: Have you done any Triathlons or sports?
Lars-Erik: Yes. I am a former swimmer who participated in many Norwegian championships and international competitions. In the most extreme weeks, I trained up to 35 hours a week, so I have a fundamental understanding of what participants put in terms of effort and dedication. In addition, when I have the chance, I thrive doing freediving. The silence alone at a depth of 30m cannot be described.
Norseman: What was your racing style in sports?
I was short to mid-distance. My favorite was 200m Butterfly.
Norseman: Do you plan to do the Norseman Crew Race one day?
I have no plans for that. Time will show.
Peace and Love from the Norseman Crew.
